So I spend the most frustrating 5 hours of my life creating THREE seperate accounts (I mean.. WHO seriously requires users to create THREE SEPERATE ACCOUNTS?) and after all that.. My account is rejected.

WHAT. THE. HELL.

Well you can either calm down or consider the rejection permanent. :)

Uh.. i think it's permanent anyway. I don't really see what the point of temporarily rejecting me would be.

The point of temporal rejection is so that rejectees are then able to justify their hosting claim in a greater way. Most of the time after some clarification they are accepted.

If signing up for 3 accounts doesn't show dedication enough, I don't know what would.

It doesn't work like that. Free-Space has had countless signups from the same people trying to host illegal sites here - surely they are as committed?

Well i'm simply trying to host a text file.

I might try rapidshare.

Last time I checked one text file isn't a website.

And there are many sites that allow you to host such minimal amounts.

Last time I checked one text file isn't a website.
Hence why this is free-space, not free-website.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Hence why it's website hosting.

Hence why most web-services offer users the benefit of the doubt and let them upload what they want until a complaint is made to an abuse@ address... And they certainly don't make users sign up for 3 account.

Name one other website on the internet which makes users sign up for 3 accounts.

Free-Space is unique. It should not be comparable to others. Also if FS didn't manually accept/reject the servers would become clogged with illegal material.

Besides, if you think your rejection is permanent, what are you still doing here?

To let you know how frustrated i am that i wasted time signing up for 3 accounts only to have my application rejected?

BBarash

We have already explained this.

a.) Signing up to 3 separate areas of the site is not forced upon you.
b.) Rejected applications have the option to appeal a claim - most of the time this is sorted out.
c.) If you are so frustrated why not go elsewhere? FS has thousands of happy & grateful customers your frustrations will not impact upon that.

Why does it have rejections though?

Is it that starved for resources?

BBarash

No, FS cares about the usage of its servers. This way, existing members can feel that their data is secure upon clean servers.

Would you like the idea of inappropriate data being held on the same server as yourself?

i agree...

penguin and bbot are right Justin, besides, the ToS specifically states to not use this service for hosting files... but for an actual website [and not a redirect, either]. so please stop complaining -- besides, it prob didn't take you more than 10 minutes to sign up all 3 accounts, a minor price to pay for a FREE service.
